Procurement for Non-Procurement Professionals in the Public Sector

The role of Procurement is increasing in importance, as the pressure to deliver efficiency and effectiveness from external supply organisations is recognised as an essential competence, in most organisations.

The modernisation of procurement practices in many public sector organisations has highlighted the importance of the role of the internal "stakeholder" in the optimisation of their procurement activities. "Stakeholders" may be individuals outside the Public Sector organisation's central procurement function but who are directly (or indirectly) involved in one or more stages of the procurement process. The "Stakeholder" is often a specialist or professional in their own function or role, but not necessarily with a good understanding of modern public sector procurement practices.

This one day course is therefore designed to provide "Stakeholder" delegates working in the Public Sector with a firm understanding of modern procurement practice, specific Public Sector procurement regulations and insight as to how they may best contribute to the achievement of their organisation's procurement objectives.
